The Game Developer Conference (GDC), occasionally releases videos and slides from their vault for free after a certain period of time has passed.
The most recent releases is from 2011’s Indie PR’s Got Talent, which I was fortunate enough to be a part of. Hosted by @BinaryTweedDeej of IndieCity, fellow journalists Christian Nutt (@ferricide) and Michael Rose (@RaveofRavendale) of Gamaustra, along with Alexander Swliwinski (@Sliwinski) of Joystiq, and I discussed the Do’s and Do Not’s of writing press releases. In the same vein as the popular game show America’s Got Talent, we buzzed in with a number of funny sounding devices when we found good or strikingly bad points in a press release.
Moreover, you can find all of their free videos here. If you do any sort of work in the games industry then I highly suggest that you take a look. Hopefully the solo talk I gave on the Indie Games Uprising at GDC 2012 will be available soon too.
